Every morning, sounds of screeching tires reverberate through my ears and the pungent scent of burnt rubber stings my nostrils as I continuously struggle to find available parking near campus. As a student of BYU, whom attempts to drive to school daily, I completely understand the parking complaints that echo through BYU’s halls. I find it near impossible to park near campus and often times, I and many other students are forced to park illegally because the pressure of arriving late to class weighs heavy on their minds as there are no parking spots open. Unless students are willing to schedule an eight AM class, available parking is rarely available until the late afternoon. Opposing sides argue that due to the lack of available parking students are encouraged to exercise by walking or cycling, thus steadily eliminating the harmful pollution emitted by cars. However, the wintry conditions of Provo are unforgiving to the immune systems of walking students, as many students catch colds from the unbearable conditions. Also many students get injured while walking to school. I have heard multiple reports from many of my friends that have hurt themselves from slipping on ice on their way to school. A solution needs to be formed to rid us of this horrible problem.

Plus, the recent weather allows for slippery roads which doesn't go well in the tight-quartered parking lot. Something does need to be done indeed.
I totally agree with you! I just got a ticket today because I was parked illegally!
I would have to agree with you on the ice, which is often found on sidewalks. But I do understand that BYU is concerned about students' well-being by not building more parking. If one catches a cold, there IS a sign of getting dressed warmer. We have to work out for at least 30 minutes a day in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. You must live way far off campus to complain about being cold. Also I think that walking to campus is beneficial because you get to meet more people that way.
I toally agree with your argument. especially during the winter, its so frustrating trying to first find parking then to have to walk in the freezing cold. BYU needes to go ahead and start a plan for a parking garage that would be built this summer.
parking sucks. And the fact that $30 is the fine doesnt help those just running into the Wilk to grab something. They need a more lenient system or a program/fee to get good parking!
Also some areas are not marked as clearly as others leaving many students who believe they have done nothing wrong with parking tickets.
Great job following the kairos, I can tell this is written by a byu student and is directed towards the same. I love how you introduce your topic.
