Terrorists drive SUVs

As an American who has driven a car all my life I can tell you that SUVs support terrorism because they increase our dependence on foreign oil supplies. But we need to consider global warming as a real threat to our way of living. The abnormally warm temperatures we have had this winter are a sure sign that global warming is happening. If we don’t ban SUVs even though they are bad for the environment eventually the polar ice caps will melt and there will be no place to live because the entire world will be covered with water. So America it’s time to make a choice. We can either stop using SUVs or destroy the earth.

Banning SUVs leads to a bad environment leads to polar ice caps melting leads to a world covered with water--nice slippery slope argument.

Jumping from terrorism to global warming is a red herring.

false authority, first line, good way to start out the piece.

SLippery Slope was used when going down the line to finally having no place to live because the ice caps will melt.

Good use of False Authority, giving yourself the image that as an American who drives a car you know everything.

The global warming is a nice slippery slope fallacy, that was very well done and sly.

Actually, the last line is not a threat, but an example of the Either/Or fallacy (also called "the Black-and-White Fallacy" and "False Dilemma"). This was a bit tricky because it wasn't on our list of fallacies. This fallacy occurs when someone constructs an argument based on the assumption that there are only two possible outcomes or choices when actually there are several.
