It only takes an apple a day

Many students at Brigham Young University have gotten sick at least one time this year. People all around us are walking around with viruses just waiting to spread to others around them. According to an old saying by my dying second cousin-in-law eighth removed, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” In order to protect students at BYU, eating an apple each day should be made part of the Honor Code. In this way we will have a clean and safe learning environment for everyone so that students can excel academically. I am currently taking a physiology class this semester, and with half a semester’s worth of experience, I recommend that each student take the initiative to protect themselves and others around them by eating more apples. Everybody in my apartment complex has been eating apples, and none of them have gotten sick, which clearly means that all students at BYU should too. Many of them are eating apple pie, apple sauce, apple soup, apple sausages, and even apple noodles; there are just so many possibilities! As a personal testimony, I ate an apple earlier this morning and I haven’t gotten sick. Even though we have more knowledge about medicine today, we should use methods from the past, such as eating apples to prevent getting sick. This is quite logical because many notable men such as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are significant parts of our past. Students should be responsible about their personal health, or else everyone at BYU will get sick. If the professors are sick, how will they be able to do research or teach? Not only will our university not be as competitive as others, but it will fail miserably and shut down. To prevent such a fatal fall of our beloved campus, we must show that we are brothers and sisters of our heavenly father by eating apples in order to protect our sacred University.
