Uneducated votes to be the cause of America’s downfall?

Political slogans, constant CNN coverage, political scandal; all part of an election year. This year has been one of the closest running races among each political party. Who will win? It’s unpredictable. In fact in the recent caucuses’ predictions as to which candidate will take each state have been completely contradicted by the final outcomes. This year may be a close race but at the same time candidates ideas and positions vary differently. How long should we stay in Iraq? How should we solve the economic problem? And many more questions are being addressed by each candidate in very different ways. With such extremes in this years election we need to make sure that our vote counts. It is not merely enough to cast a vote though. To perform our civic duty we need to make educated votes. We need to vote for those candidates who we believe will uphold the standards and morals of this country. Reading the news paper, watching CNN, searching the internet; these are all ways in which I educated myself. I truly see the importance of viewing a candidate and there positions in every situation possible. Whether it be a televised debate or a newspaper article written by a biased supporter it is all important to me.

Great Tile! Its eyecatching. You also did a fine job establishing the kairos: This issue is something unique and popular for 2008. Your Ethos is just fine, you mentioned that your trying to educate yourslf about the candiates. My one and only suggestion would be to tie it into BYU students and what issues affect us. But i'm sure that you'll have that somewhere in you paper so yeah good job. Great Paragraph!

Although it is a little vague in describing what you were going to talk about, I thought that your third title “Are you throwing America’s dream out the window?” was the best. I thought that this was catchy and alluring to the American loving BYU community. Your paragraph flowed very nicely as well.

i thought "another hltler" was the catchiest title and it shows how bad of a problem being uneducated in voting is.
