Evil vs. Good

Evil:

Students living in off campus housing no longer have the excuse for their unhealthy habits. It is their responsibility to improve their dietary consumption since they are in control of their bodies. Those who have little time to cook for themselves could organize dinner groups. Each person could cook for the rest of the people in their group on a certain day of the week. Everyone would benefit from this set-up because they would get a warm nutritious meal every night of the week, yet they would only have to cook once every couple of weeks. Apartment complexes should have a sign up sheet for people who are interested in joining a dinner group. Another possibility is for a new church calling to be created which would be titled the “Wellness Coordinator.” This person would be responsible for organizing dinner groups for those in their ward. It is challenging to be healthy when we are busy. We need to make an effort to prioritize taking care of our bodies.

Freshman who are living in the dorms probably struggle the most in terms of eating a balanced diet. For instance if they are have are very hungry and have a limited amount of time between classes they may have to eat in the Cougareat instead of in the cafeteria. This can be a struggle when there are few places to eat, many of which are fast food restaurants. From my experience, L & T has the longest lines. It is frustrating for me to eat on campus when there are few places to eat that offer healthy choices. There were several times in which I ate Taco Bell or pizza instead of a salad because they were not only faster, but cheaper. For example, one can order a burrito off of the dollar menu at Taco Bell, but at a different place it would be a bag of chips. It would be imaginable for me to put up with such circumstances if I did have live off of my signature card for the entire year. I propose that more restaurants should be opened on campus that are both healthy and affordable for students.

Good!.....well at least I hope so!
