The question of “What do I want to do with my life?” has always been a haunting one. It is a question that has crossed my mind ever since I was a little girl. To start out I would like to say that I am a licensed cosmetologist and enjoy doing hair. It is because I have already found a career suits me well that I have decided to major in is Home and Family Living. “Yes, I know,” I am a typical female BYU student majoring in marriage. I tend to get the wrath from many people when I tell them what my major is. I will not say that this is the best major at BYU, because I don’t believe that there is one major that is the very best, but I do believe that this is the best BYU major for me. The reason that I chose this major is because it is extremely practical. The classes that I am required to take are very beneficial towards my future family. Being a wife and mother is something that I have always dreamed about. What could be better than learning about and improving my motherly skills? I get to take cooking, sewing, and parenting classes. Now I don’t know about you but I don’t know what could be better than that. We have been counseled from our prophets time and time again, that the most important calling in life is to be good parents and to raise righteous children. I am learning many lessons, and growing towards being the best mother that I can possibly be by taking the classes that are included in the Home and Family Living major.

I think you are wise for going back and furthering your education after cosmetology school. I also think that you made a good decision to look study Home and Family Living. I know it will help you in your future home and family.
I have seen two of my sisters bring in a very good income cutting hair while my brother-in-laws went through school. In my opinion it is very practical and a smart way to go and now with Home and Family Living you complete the package.
